You will be only100 metres from the nearest beach with coastal and country walksviews right on your doorstep. This beautiful 1930's green oak beamed thatched cottage is set in the rural heart of the quite village of Maidencombe which has the award winning relaxing village pubrestaurant The Thatched Tavern. The Orstone Manor Hotel and fine dining restaurant is just up the hill. Choose to relax in the apartment with TV, DVD, plenty of board games or in the cottages' garden, village pub, beach or country walks. Guest all love the location of this quaint Art Deco cottage. So whether you are an Artist, Nature Lover, Dog Walker, Swimmer, Foodie, Golf Fanatic, Fisherman etc. or just a plain romantic we feel sure that you will find this an ideal holiday let.Torquay is a 15 minute bus ride or 10 minutes by car. Parking available on site and in the village.There is ample dining space for 4-6 persons, free-sat television, unlimited WIFI, and a DVD player. The kitchen has a ceramic hob, electric oven and grill, fridge, microwave, plenty of utensils and lots of cupboard space. Penny Farthing has it's own private stairsentrance and hallway with storage cupboards. Guests are welcome to use the front and side gardens. The flat has gas central heating and hot water. To help you during your stay the flat is packed with board games, dvd's, and a welcome pack giving you ideas on where to visit. The quaint village of Maidencombe has approximately 30 properties in the main village. It is peaceful and friendly. There is a beach café in the Summer months, and The Thatched Tavern which has an award winning garden probably serves some of the best beers in Devon. With two wood burning stoves to snuggle in front with a glass of wine winters evening can be so inviting. Dartmoor is only a 30 minute drive away. Torquay and Teignmouth are the closest towns, and you will find plenty of top restaurants and eateries in both. Try a day out at Kent's Cavern the worlds famous prehistoric caves. Internationally famous Paignton Zoo or Splashdown Water Park, Paignton next to Torquay. A car is by far the most convenient but buses and taxis are available.This is a non smoking thatched property, but smoking is allowed in the garden . We are all very pet friendly so you are welcome to bring your dog(s), provided you keep them under control and look after the apartment. The beach, pub and country walks are also dog friendly all year round.

Directions

From the M5 motorway head on to the A380 signposted Torquay. Take the B3192 exit towards Teignmouth and head down the Exeter Road. Follow the A379 signposted to Torquay, travel over the Teignmouth Bridge, and continue to follow the A379 along the Teignmouth Road. Enter Maidencombe on the Teignmouth Road and turn left onto Steep Hill when you see the Jon Glanvill Auto Centre on your right hand side. The apartment is next door to the Thatched Tavern pub.
